In collaboration with the Peldon Rose Group of designers, a major refurbishment project was completed at the prestigious Aramco offices, which is situated in one of London’s most famous and, at times, most controversial buildings.
Centre Point stands in the centre of the West End, overlooking Oxford Street and Charing Cross Road junction. Built on land originally designated for a traffic roundabout and completed in 1962, the building stands at 117m, accommodating 35 floors of office space, with its distinctive concrete exterior pattern making it an instantly recognisable London landmark.
The new, 26th floor headquarters for Saudi based petrochemical company, Aramco Overseas was the venue for the project, which was carried out on a full design and build contract. The Cold Cathode was installed in ceiling coffers along the length of the reception and corridors, as well as a 'teardrop' installation above the reception desk.
Colour on the project was supplied by the long-life, 4100k cold cathode lamps with Coldstar Zero gears and 1-10v dimming through a Richmond dimmer. A total of 38 lamp fittings were used on the project, with a total of approximately 70m of Cold Cathode tubing being supplied.
