Designed by interior specialists Fairhursts, the Daresbury Laboratory hosts a number of ressources and services that have a strategic importance for the research community.

A strinking frosted glass flooring was installed in the main laboratory corridors, which was evenly illuminated by ACDC's cold cathode. Lighting designer Paul Welbon stated that: "cold cathode provide the only light source suitable for the application, primarily because of the long-life and low maintenance, when compared to other sources."

Welbon added that: "the plug and socket nature of the product made for a simple installation whilst the client was overjoyed with the outcome."
