Located at the heart of the busy Manchester city centre, the Esure headquarters represents a building that has got the people of Manchester talking about lighting. The system uses the buildings' glass façade to full effect with a night-time lighting effect that is truly breathtaking, due to the highly innovative and advanced lighting system provided by ACDC.
The Architects dynamic lighting ideas were realised and brought to reality by Independent Lighting Specialists in Manchester. The system uses all that cold cathode has to offer. The main feature however is the DMX control which enables each individual lamp to be addressed by the dimming system, allowing the client to create almost any combination of patterns or effects and even a 'Tetris' preset, where the lamps create moving patterns, just like the computer game.
Brilliant Blue and Orange cold cathode lamps were installed into a specialist curved aluminium extrusion, not only to give strong visual effects, but also to match the Esure corporate brand. "The project was extremely challenging at the time, but the final result is truly fantastic, and we are extremely proud to have been involved" commented Paul Welbon of ILS.
