Newcastle, in the North East of England, is the new home for Northern Rock Building Society. Their new headquarters have a unique high-tech feel and the cold cathode application is certainly not out of place within this environment.
Edinburgh based Lighting Design Partnership International were responsible for a lighting design scheme that was crisp and fresh. The design introduced perforated stainless steel panelling to the corridors and link bridges, helping to enthuse and enrich an otherwise routine journey from building to building.
20mm diameter electric blue cold cathode behind a stainless steel panel combines to give a strikingly uniform and even glow across the panels and along the length of the corridor. Overall, around 200 linear metres of cold cathode was introduced to this project, to provide a continuous, long-life light source for many years to come.
